Decree on the landfill of waste and temporary storage of metallic mercury.

This Decree of the Ministry of Environment, which is composed of 14 articles and six Annexes, lays down requirements for the landfill of waste and temporary storage of metallic mercury. When selecting a site for the landfill of waste or temporary storage of metallic mercury the following criteria must be taken into account: (1) the safe distance of the landfill from residential areas or recreational areas, watercourses, water reservoirs and water resources; (2) geological, hydrological, hydrogeological and engineering-geological conditions of the area; (3) the protection of nature and the countryside and the protection of cultural heritage of the area; (4) possible extreme meteorological impacts and their consequences; (5) final opinion of the environmental impact assessment. Building and technical requirements for the construction of the landfill of waste are specified in art. 3. Art. 4 provides requirements for sewage disposal.
