Abstract
This Decree of the Ministry of Environment, which is composed of 17 articles and seven Annexes, lays down requirements for the landfill of waste and for storage of waste mercury. When selecting a site for the landfill of waste the following criteria must be taken into account: (1) safe distance from residential or recreational areas, watercourses, water reservoirs and water resources; (2) geological, hydrological, hydrogeological and engineering-geological conditions of the area; (3) protection of the nature and countryside and protection of cultural heritage of the area; (4) possible extreme meteorological effects and their consequences; (5) final opinion of the environmental impact assessment; (6) land-use planning documentation. Building and technical requirements for the construction of the landfill of waste are specified in art. 3.
