Abstract
This Act concerns wastes management and prevention of the waste generation. The Act consists of eight Sections and lays down: (1) measures to prevent the generation of waste; (2) rights and obligations of legal persons and natural persons in the prevention of the generation of waste and the management of waste; (3) treatment of municipal waste; (4) transboundary movement of waste; (5) the competence of state administration bodies relating to waste management. For the purposes of these provisions waste is defined as movable thing or a substance that a holder discards, wants to get rid of or is in compliance with this law or special regulations obliged to get rid of it. The waste is not a substance or a movable item which is a by-product, waste which was processed for re-use and meets appropriate requirements, and waste intended for home use.
