Abstract
The purpose of this Notification is to maintain food safety control on the possible Cry 9C DNA Sequence corn contamination in food. According to Clause 1, food contaminated with Cry 9C DNA Sequence or protein derived from the Cry 9C DNA, shall be prohibited to be produced, imported or sold. Clause 1 gives a list of foods, including: (1) Pop corn; (2) Baby corn both of frozen corn and/or corn in sealed containers; (3) Taco shell; (4) Corn chips / corn snack; (5) Corn flake; (6) Corn meal / corn flour; and (7) Corn on the cob or frozen corn grain and/or corn in sealed container. A Starlink-free certificate for the import of such corn and corn products shall be required by the Thai FDA.
