Abstract
This Decree-Law, consisting of 3 Chapters, establishes the structure of the Ministry of Tourism (MT). It specifies composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, entitled to: design, regulate, perform, coordinate and assess defined policies on tourism, arts and culture. In addition, this ministry is responsible for: proposing policies and designing necessary projects to regulate this sector, according to the Strategic Development Plano (PED); contributing for dynamic touristic activities, with priority for activities established in PED, in particular for those related to ecological and maritime, historical, cultural, community, sport, adventure, religious and conventions; analysing touristic and cultural activities and proposing relevant public measures and policies for the development of these policies according to bilateral and multilateral agreements; supporting and regulating activities of economic agents in this sector; give assessment on request of information for the establishment of touristic infrastructure; carry out controls and inspection on this sector; establishing and regulating touristic areas; etc.
