Abstract
The Circular provides for fishing operations in maritime and inland waters in order to increase production and subsequent exportation, preserve fish quality and facilitate stock enhancement. Certain prohibitions, restrictions and obligations are imposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs for the period from 1 September 2004 to 31 August 2006. Fishing with a trawl is forbidden on inland waters, in the Marmara Sea, the Bosporus, and Dardanelles, and in certain areas of the Black Sea, in the Aegean and Mediterranean. Fish quota, size, species, and prohibition dates, also for molluscs and crustaceans are detailed in the Circular. Fishing seasons are indicated and restrictions in fishing methods and gear are mentioned both for maritime and inland waters. A list of maritime and inland waters, where fishing is completely or partially prohibited is given. Measures that should be taken on maritime and inland waters are detailed. Locations where fishing is possible only under certain restrictions, is also included in the Circular.
