Abstract
This Circular establishes prohibitions, restrictions and obligations concerning commercial fishing activities in order to increase production and exportation of fish products and, at the same time, preserve fish quality and facilitate stock enhancement. The Circular lays down a list of species that may be caught in maritime and inland waters and sets forth related time restrictions. Moreover, it specifies the species that may not be caught. Fishing seasons and prohibited fishing methods are indicated as well. A list of maritime and inland waters where fishing is completely or partially prohibited is given. Fishing with trawl nets is forbidden on inland waters, in the Marmara Sea, the Bosporus and Dardanelles, as well as in certain areas of the Black Sea, in the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. The Circular will be in force from 1 September 2006 to 31 August 2008.
