Abstract
The objective of this Instruction is to provide information regarding the American Foulbrood Disease. American foulbrood is a highly infectious disease by Paenibacillus larvae. The Instruction provides information regarding the causes and the diagnosis. Laboratory analysis is very crucial for the diagnosis and therefore proper samples have to be collected. Sampling details are given in the instruction. American foulbrood is a notifiable disease. Procedures that should be followed until the Government veterinary is on the scene, procedures when the Government veterinary arrives at the scene are all detailed. Infected area will be clearly marked as “Honeybees here are infected with American Foulbrood”. Information about the disinfectants is given in the instruction. American foulbrood could only be cured at its very early stages. Therefore infected bees and the hives are destroyed.
