Law No. 308 on registration, control and certification of seeds.

The objective of this Law which includes 20 articles in 9 sections is to define the procedures for providing quality seeds to farmers. Seeds that are produced, sold, distributed, exported and imported will be registered and certified by organizations assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Seeds that are subject to this Law will be annually determined and announced by the Ministry of Agriculture. Imported and exported seeds are subject to be controlled and obtaining import or export license is essential. Seed Control and Certification Branch under General Directorate of Agricultural Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture has been established to provide the services covered by this Law. The Ministry shall establish control and certification institutes, stations and laboratories to accomplish the aforesaid services.
