Law No. 7269 on measures to be taken and aid to be provided due to disasters affecting public life.

This Law determines measures to be taken and aid to be provided, in the event of earthquakes, fires, floods, landslides, rockfalls, avalanches, subsidence, and similar disasters, in areas where structures and public facilities have been or are likely to be damaged to a degree that would affect public life. Basic rules regarding the impact of disasters on public life shall be determined in a regulation to be prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, taking into account the size of the affected settlements, the number of buildings destroyed or rendered uninhabitable in all or part of the area, the degree of impact of damaged structures and facilities on public life, the economic and social characteristics of the locality, the public reaction to the damage, the disruptions to normal life, and similar matters. However, in the event of a disaster, the governor of the affected area is authorized to take the emergency measures required by this Law.
