Notification on commercial fishing.

This Notification lays down duties, prohibitions and restrictions applicable to commercial fishing activities. The aim is to improve the production and exportation of fish products while at the same time preserving fishery resources. The fish species which may not be captured are also listed out. Particular provisions deal with fishing seasons and prohibited fishing methods. A list of maritime and inland waters where fishing is completely or partially prohibited is given. Fishing with trawl nets is forbidden in the Marmara Sea, the Bosporus and Dardanelles. Taking sponges is absolutely prohibited in all territorial waters.
