Notification on import of ozone depleting substances and fluorinated greenhouse gases (Import: 2024/14).

This Notification sets out the import procedures and principles in order to prevent and control the use of substances that deplete the ozone layer and to control fluorinated greenhouse gases and other fluorinated substances within the framework of the studies and activities carried out under the Declaration of the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and the World Plan of Action on the Ozone Layer of the United Nations Environment Program. This Notification prohibits the import of substances listed in Annex-1 and mixtures containing these substances. The import of chlorodifluoromethane for service purposes, which are subject to the Free Circulation Regime, Inward Processing Regime, Outward Processing Regime, Temporary Import Regime and Processing Under Customs Control Regime, is subject to the permission of the General Directorate of Imports. Article 6 lists the substances of which their import for the purposes of agricultural quarantine, pre-transportation use, laboratory use, mandatory use, use in critical areas and services, are subject to the permission of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Additionally, this Notification lays down the application procedures and principles of import license for the substances which are subject to import permit, evaluation of applications and distribution of quotas.
