Notification on the import of wastes under control for environmental protection (Product Safety and Inspection: 2019/3).

This Notification sets forth procedures and principles of compliance inspection of wastes that will entry to the customs territory of Turkey, in accordance the environmental protection standards. This Notification shall apply to wastes listed in Annex-I. This Notification lays out rules for the requirements of importers for environmental permit and certificate before application, application procedures for compliance certificate, procedures of compliance inspection, import-prohibited wastes, waste generated in free zone, customs procedures, sanctions and related measures. The import-prohibited wastes are listed in Annex-II/A and Annex-II/B. The disposal of wastes generated from foreign-flagged vessels is not under the scope of this Notification, hence is subject to Regulation on reception of waste from ships and waste management in accordance with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships.
