Regulation on the application and control of plant protection products.

This Regulation lays down rules for the application of plant protection products against pests in plants and plant products, in plant production sites and areas where plants and plant products are stored and preserved, as well as in food businesses, according to their labels; authorization of applicators and their responsibilities; registration of their applications; and the establishment of the principles of inspection. This Regulation underlines that plant protection product applications by plant protection product applicators shall be carried out within the framework of integrated pest management principles, which prioritize applications with the lowest risk to human and environmental health, and prohibits using plant protection products that are subject to prescription unless prescribed by a authorized person.
This Regulation sets out the procedures, terms and conditions of the certification for the application of plant protection products; the use of unmanned aerial vehicle systems in agricultural pest control; preventive measures against potential toxicity to water resources, humans, and the environment resulting from plant protection product applications; records to be kept regarding plant protection product applications on a plot and plant basis to ensure traceability; official controls regarding plant protection product application and record keeping; pre-harvest pesticide inspections to prevent the incorrect use of pesticides in plant production areas; and official controls regarding the use of plant protection products in plant production areas and sampling for pre-harvest pesticide inspection.
