Abstract
This Regulation sets out the procedures and principles regarding the detection, combat, eradication and prevention of the spread of potato cyst nematodes, specifically Globodera pallida and Globodera rostochiensis. It lays down provisions concerning the official detection survey for the presence of the specified pest on the production sites in the period between the harvesting of the latest crop and the planting of the plants or potato tubers for planting which are listed in Annex 1; sampling and testing for the specified pest for the official detection surveys; designation of infested production sites and infested specified plants; annual risk-based official monitoring surveys on production sites used for the production of potatoes; sampling and testing for the presence of specified pests for the official monitoring surveys; measures on infested production sites and infested plants for the purpose of eradicating the specified pests; notification of the confirmed presence of the specified pests and varieties and the revokation of the measures in an infested production site; transitional measures on testing methods; and administrative sanctions in accordance with the Article 38 of the Law No. 5996 on veterinary services, plant health, food and feed. This Regulation has been drafted in line with the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1192 establishing measures to eradicate and prevent the spread of Globodera pallida (Stone) Behrens and Globodera rostochiensis (Wollenweber) Behrens.
