Abstract
The General Directorate of Afforestation and Erosion Control of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is responsible for conducting afforestation, erosion control, rehabilitation, rehabilitation, seed production and nursery activities. Individuals and companies are also allowed to conduct above mentioned activities on state lands or on privately owned lands, and in the latter case no permit by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry is necessary: but individuals and companies must apply to the local forestry branch office for a permit, also for fuel wood forests. Nurseries are not allowed within state forests, but only within privately owned or government lands. Minimum size of private nurseries is 1 ha. Construction of buildings or any other facilities are not permitted within state forests except B type paths, mobile containers for protection and production, and mobile water storage tanks, irrigation ponds, irrigation pipelines, wells and electricity facilities. Construction of recreational and social facilities is allowed to a certain extent within private forests and on state owned lands to encourage afforestation activities.
