Regulation on the release of radioactive substances.

This Regulation outlines the principles and procedures regarding the release of radioactive substances. It shall apply to the release of radioactive materials that occur during the conduct of activities related to nuclear energy and ionizing radiation. This Regulation sets limits in nuclear facilities and radioactive waste facilities for the liquid, aerosol and gaseous release to the environment and for the doses received by individuals which do not surpass radiation protection limits set out in the relevant legislation. Radioactive liquid wastes generated during the conduct of activities in radiation facilities shall only be released into the sewage system after their radioactivity falls below the release limits. This Regulation also lays down provisions on the environmental radiological monitoring to evaluate the estimated dose that the public may receive during operation and in radiation emergencies; registration of the amount of releases, radioactivity levels and findings of environmental radiological monitoring; reporting on releases and environmental radiological monitoring to the Nuclear Regulatory Authority; accreditation of laboratories, measurement and analyzes and quality procedures; and the inspection and administrative sanctions.
