Abstract
This Notification lays down the methods of analysis for conformity checks. The methods of analysis used for determining the characteristics of olive oils and olive pomace oils are set out in Annex I. The decision tree analysis in Annex 2 shall be used in the evaluation of the purity and quality of products within the scope of this Notification. Annex 3 sets out the method for measuring the oil content in olive pomace. This Regulation sets a deadline of 1 June 2024, for existing institutions conducting official food inspections to comply with the new regulation. Until then, the previous regulation of 2014 will continue to be enforced. This Notification has been drafted in line with the Regulation (EU) 2022/2105 laying down rules on conformity checks of marketing standards for olive oil and methods of analysis of the characteristics of olive oil.
