Abstract
This Act establishes the Sugar Industry Price Stabilisation Fund, the Sugar Industry Rehabilitation Fund and the Sugar Industry Labour Welfare Fund. This Act lays down provisions on the powers and duties of the Comptroller of Accounts; investment of funds; amount to be levied on sugar exporters and paid to Comptroller of Accounts and their allocation to special funds; appointment of Committees by the Minister to manage the special funds; and the transfer of moneys standing to the credit of the Sugar Industry Price Stabilisation Fund to the Sugar Industry Labour Welfare Fund and the Sugar Industry Rehabilitation Fund. The Schedule to this Act lists the Sugar Industry Labour Welfare Committee Services.
