Decision No. 626/ QD - TTg of the Prime Minister Approving the “Project on strengthening the management capacity of the conservation area system until 2025, with a vision to 2030” .

This Decision approves the Programme on strengthening the management capacity of the conservation area system until 2025, with a vision to 2030. The overall goal of the Programme is: to improve the management capacity of the protected area system from central to grassroots levels to ensure the conservation and sustainable development of natural resources and biodiversity in Vietnam.
Specific results are proposed in the Programme: a) Improve mechanisms and policies on organizational structure, human resource and financial development to meet the requirements of sustainable management and development of natural resources in protected areas; b) Improve management capacity and professional skills for staff working in protected areas: By 2025, 50% of the total number of staff (with priority given to women) in protected areas will be trained and certified according to the topics described in the competency framework for employment positions; c) Ensuring facilities and equipment, applying science and technology in protected area management: By 2025, 50% of protected areas nationwide will be provided with equipment and application of advanced technology in database management, patrolling, biodiversity monitoring and effective assessment of conservation area management.
