Decree of the Government providing detailed Regulations for the Implementation of the Mineral Law.

This Decree provides for the implementation of the Mineral Law 1996, detailing provisions on the management, protection, basic geographical surveys of mineral resources and mineral activities (mineral prospecting, exploration, exploitation, processing) taking place in the country by Vietnamese and foreign organizations.The provisions apply , practically, to exploration, exploitation and mining operations effectuated in the subsoil of the land, islands, internal waters, territorial sea, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf of Vietnam, under the authority of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation.
