Abstract
These Regulations prohibit the importation, sale or manufacture for sale, as the case may be, of foodstuffs that contain residue of defined chemical substances in excess of maximum residue limits prescribed by these Regulations in the Schedule. Part of these foodstuffs appear in the latest list of the Codex Maximum Limits for Pesticide Residues of the Codex Alimentarius Commission Analysis. Sampling of pesticide residues in food shall be shall be carried out in accordance with the latest edition of the Codex Alimentarius Standards, Pesticides Residues in Food: Methods of Analysis and Sampling.
