Abstract
This Act provides rules for commercial fishing and the introduction of fish into waters in Zambia. The Act consists of 25 sections which are divided into six Parts: Preliminary (I); Control of Fishing (II); Special Fishing Areas and Licenses (III); Commercial Fishing (IV); Offences and Penalties (V); General (VI).
The Minister may prescribe areas for special purposes fishing (sects. 6 and 7) or declare an area to be a commercial fishing area (sect. 8). For those areas the Minister may appoint a Fishing Development Committee (sect. 12).
