Law No. 9010 on environmental treatment of solid waste.

The present Law aims at ensuring the protection of the environment and human health against pollution and damage resulting from solid waste. To this end, it sets out rules governing their environmental treatment at every stage: creation, collection, separation, transportation, recycling, processing and disposal. The Law aims at waste reduction and the reduction of the hazardous and dangerous impact of waste.
The Act is componed of the following Chapters: (I) General provisions; (II) Prevention of pollution from solid waste; (III) Treatment of waste according to type; (IV) Committee for Solid Waste Management; (V) Environmental licence; (VI) Importation, exportation and transiting of waste; (VII) Monitoring of waste management; (VIII) Control; (IX) Sanctions.
