Abstract
This Act provides for the management and protection of certain plants and animals.
The Minister may declare plants or animals to be declared plants or animals, and assign them to different categories as specified in the text. A Government department, a local government or the owner of any private land shall control declared animals and plants on and in relation to the land under their control.
The Act provides for the prevention of introduction and spread of declared plants and animals. Restrictions on the introduction of certain categories of declared animals or plants are specified in Part VI.
The Act further provides for the protection of agriculture and related resources from danger or detriment likely to result from the storage, use or transport of prescribed agricultural chemicals.
