Abstract
An Act on the conservation and management of forests in the territory of Victoria. The Act consists of 103 sections, completed by two Schedules and contains provisions on, among others, the operation of the Department of Conservation, Forests and Lands (sects. 4-29), the purchase and taking of land for forestry purposes (sect. 38), the creation and management of forest reserves (sects. 41 – 50), leases, licences and management responsibilities (sects. 51 – 57), the proclamation and management of protected forests (sects. 58 – 61), and on prevention and protection for fire (sects. 62 – 71). The Act establishes a relationship with the Water Act.
