Abstract
This Act consolidates and amends the law relating to diseases in stock, it consists of 48 sections. It concerns the appointment of inspectors and their powers, emergency diseases notice (sect. 12), the declaration of infected areas, quarantine (sect. 14), compensation and related matters. It provides for requirements for travelling permits, their issuance and cancellation. It contains provisions on testing, treatment and isolation of stock and the treatment of vehicles (sect. 32), and on control of residue diseases (sect. 33). The Act provides for offences and penalties as well as for liability matters. The Act is completed by two schedules on subject matter for regulation and dictionary.
