Abstract
This Plan, consisting of eight Parts, divided into 51 sections and done under the Water Act 2000, defines the management plan for the rivers on the border between Queensland and the State of New South Wales. The purposes of the Plan include: to define the availability of water in the interested area, to provide a framework for the sustainable management of water and taking of water; to provide a framework for establishing water allocations; to provide a framework for reversing, where applicable, degradation that has occurred in natural ecosystems, including stressed rivers; and to regulate the taking of overland flow water. The plan is completed by five Schedules.
