Abstract
The purposes of this Act are: (a) to establish procedures in order to promote the protection and conservation of wildlife, the prevention of taxa of wildlife from becoming extinct; and the sustainable use of and access to wildlife; and (b) to prohibit and regulate the conduct of persons engaged in activities concerning or related to wildlife.
The Act consists of 105 sections and is divided into twelve parts as follows: Preliminary (I); State Wildlife Reserves and Nature Reserves (II); Tour operator licences (IIA); Licences (III); Authorizations (IIIA); Authorization orders (IIIB); Research and Management (IV); Wildlife Management Cooperative Areas, Prohibited Areas and Sanctuaries (V); Offences (VII); Enforcement and Legal Proceedings (VIII); Controlled operations (IX); Protection of Whales (X); Protection of Seals (XA); Miscellaneous (XI) and Transitional (XII).
