Regulation No. 4 of August 8, 2017, on the implementation of measure 14 "Animal Welfare" of the Rural Development Program 2014-2020.

This Regulation provides for conditions and procedures for the implementation of measure number 14 "Animal Welfare" of the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, supported by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Financial assistance under this Regulation shall be granted for the implementation of one or a combination of activities included in sub-measure 14.1 and/or sub-measure 14.2.
The implementation of animal welfare activities shall be assisted in achieving the following objectives: ensuring the conditions for raising animals, leading to improved hygiene, improving animal health and improving occupational safety; improvements in terms of food quality and food safety; environmental protection.
Section III of the Chapter two sets the terms for eligibility of applicants and related activities; Section IV of the same Chapter sets the requirements for the implementation of supported activities. The financial assistance shall be provided in accordance with the principles of good financial management, publicity and transparency.
