Abstract
This Regulation sets out the requirements for the quality of water intended for drinking and household purposes in order to protect human health against the negative impact of drinking water pollution. The Regulation is divided into eight Chapters, Additional, Transitional and Final Provisions and three Annexes. The Chapters deal with the following: general requirements (1); obligations of water companies (2); drinking water requirements (3); monitoring system (4); liabilities and penalties in case of infringement (5); exceptions (6); requirements for materials and agents to be used for the treatment and transportation of drinking water (7); reporting (8). All definitions are given in the additional provisions. Schedule I sets out the microbiological, chemical, indicative and radiobiological parameters for water intended for drinking and household purposes. Schedules II and III establish standards, monitoring parameters and minimal intervals for sampling and analysis of drinking water.
