Abstract
This Decree establishes rational use and conservation policy of marine living resources. It specifies fishing areas to be exploited, laying down the requirements to be satisfied by national or foreign vessels in order to obtain a fishing licence (including taxes to be paid). It also establishes controls to be carried out by ministerial authorities (SUDEPE) and sanctions to be paid by offenders.

This Decree revokes all contrary provisions, in particular Decrees No. 58.696 of 22 June 1966 and No. 65.005 of 18 August 1969.
