Law No. 3244-XII on pedigree stock breeding.

The present Law establishes legal and economic basis for carrying out pedigree stock breeding, relationship between the state and owner of pedigree stock and pedigree production. The purpose of this Law is to promote state stimulation and regulation of activity regarding improvement of existing and creation of new-bred species, conservation of genetic fund, husbandry of agricultural species (cattle, pigs, horses, sheep, goats), fur-bearing species, poultry, fish and bees. The Law consists of 20 articles. Article 1 defines the concepts used in the text of the Law. Article 2 establishes the tasks of pedigree stock breeding. Article 3 regards legislation on pedigree stock breeding. Article 4 regards state regulation and state control. Article 5 regards state inspectors in the field of pedigree stock breeding. Article 6 regards herd books. Article 7 regards scientific and methodological substantiation of pedigree stock breeding. Article 8 specifies the sources of financing. Article 9 determines the right of carrying out pedigree stock breeding activity. Article 10 regards use and trade of pedigree animals and pedigree production. Article 11 regards pedigree stock breeding farms. Article 12 regards guarantees to stock breeding farms. Article 13 regards feeding and keeping pedigree stock. Article 14 regards improvement of existing and creation of new-bred species. Article 15 regards animal reproduction. Article 16 regards determination of the productivity of pedigree stock. Article 17 regards determination of pedigree value of animals. Article 18 establishes liability for the infringement of legislation on pedigree stock breeding. Article 19 regards dispute settlement. Article 20 regards international agreements.
