Abstract
This Act, divided into 8 sections, sets out the powers and duties of plant inspectors (appointed under the Ministry of Food and Agriculture). These include: (a) to enter premises for an inspection under this Act; (b) inspect premises, a plant, a root medium or container; (c) detain or order the detention of a plant, root medium or container; (d) on the order of the minister, confiscate or destroy a plant, root medium or container (sect. 3). Section 8 deals with the power of the Lieutenant Governor in Council to make regulations in order to prevent the spread in British Columbia of an insect, pest or disease destructive to plants.
