Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Introductory Agriculture Law of 29 June 2000. Article 1 establishes that the Ordinance sets out details of monitoring and control of pests organisms in agriculture which are: a)considered to be of particular importance and are subject to montitoring in the whole of Switzerland; b) which are regionally important and thus threatening the health of human beings, animals and nature alike. The text – consisting of 10 articles – deals with the following aspects: sphere of application, specially dangerous pest organisms, duty to notify, ban on certain plants, measures taken by the Agriculure Office, duty of municipalities and privates, compensation, enforcement and final provisions.
