Abstract
This Legislative Decree approves the Harbours' Law of Cape Verde. The Harbours' Law, consisting of 13 Titles, divided into 96 articles, establishes the legal regime of ports, harbour and terminals areas, regulates the access and the performing of any activity and operations related to harbour sector, specifying the institutional framework of the public and individual interventions for any port under Cape Verdean jurisdiction. It also establishes port classification, definition of legal regime of harbour operation and administrative authorities entitled to regulate the economic sector of ports, determining tariffs and prices, norms related to environmental protection and discharge, treatment and waste disposal. Offences for illegal activities are appended to the text.
