Abstract
This Decree, made under article 23 of the Plant Protection Products Law, implements provisions of the Regulations no. 193 of 2012 on the Rationale Use of Agricultural Chemicals, particularly for the definition of the National Action Plan for the determination of quantitative and measures to reduce risks and effects of the use of agricultural drugs on human and animal health and the environment. The attached National Action Plan covers the five years period 2023-2027 and focuses on the development and introduction of integrated plant protection, and alternative approaches and techniques, in order to reduce dependence on use of pesticides, and their effects on human and animal health and the environment.
The National Action Plan concerns the following topics: training of professional users, distributors and consultants and related certifications; requirements for sale of plant protection products and limitations to minimise risks from their packaging handling, storage and processing; public awareness and information about plant protection products risks and possible acute and chronic health effects on human and animal health; inspection of equipments; procedure for granting permission to apply aerial spraying; measures for ensuring protection of aquatic environment and drinking water from the effects of plant protection products classified as dangerous; risk indicators, including level of pesticides residues in plant products and on surface waters.
