Abstract
The present Act is contained in article 1 of the Act of 21 December 2006 (BGBl. I 3294) on the re-organization of the regime of animal breeding. In particular, the Act lays down provisions concerning the right to breed animals. The Act is applicable to the breeding of cattle, swines, sheep, goats, and equine animals. The text consists of 30 articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Breeding organization and assessment of breeding value (2); Conservation of genetic variety (3); Offer, sale and use of breeding animals, of semen, zygote (ovum) and embryons (4); Intra-Community circulation, importation and exportation (5); Monitoring , export and penalties (6); Final provisions (7). Five Annexes are enclosed
Moreover, the above-mentioned Act on the re-organization of the regime of animal breeding repeals the Animal Breeding Act of 22 January 1998 (BGBl. I p. 145).
