Abstract
The present Act lays down provisions relating to the supervision, the taking-back and the environmental-friendly waste disposal of batteries and accumulators. The Act applies to all types of batteries regardless of shape, size, mass or material. The Act provides limitation on using the batteries with nominated percentage of mercury weight and cadmium weight. In order to enter into the market, registration of the batteries by the manufacturers are required. Taking back the old and used batteries by the manufacturers are required and end users should deliver the used and old batteries to nominated collection points. All collected and identifiable old batteries should be recycled. The text consists of 31 Articles divided into 7 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Sale and taking-back (2); Labelling and notice obligations (3); Competent authority (4); loan (5); Commissioning third parties, authorisation to issue ordinances, enforcement (6); Administrative fines, final provision (7).
