Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Directive 2004/42/CE of the European Parliament and of the Council on the same subject. In particular, the purpose of the present Directive is to limit the total content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in certain paints and varnishes and vehicle refinishing products with a view to preventing or reducing air pollution which results from the contribution of VOCs to the formation of tropospheric ozone. The text consists of 8 articles as follows: Purpose and sphere of application (1); Definition of terms (2); Prohibitions (3); Labelling (4); Verification of compliance with the present Ordinance (5); Administrative offences (6); Criminal offences (7); Effective date (8). Three Annexes are enclosed.
