Abstract
The purpose of the present Directive is to limit the total content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in certain paints and varnishes and vehicle refinishing products with a view to preventing or reducing air pollution which results from the contribution of VOCs to the formation of tropospheric ozone. Annex I lists out the products which fall within the scope of these provisions. When they are placed on the market,they shall carry a label containing the information specified by article 4.
