Abstract
This Executive Order, of the Ministry of Environment and Food, defines the division of responsibilities and powers between Denmark’s Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen) and the Government of Greenland in food and veterinary matters that remain under the Danish Minister for Environment and Food. Fødevarestyrelsen carries out inspections, supervision, rule-making, research, and representation in international bodies like the OIE, while the veterinary director within the agency exercises specific delegated powers. Greenland’s self-government handles certain certification tasks, such as for hunting trophies, hides, and wool exports. Appeals against decisions made by either Fødevarestyrelsen or Greenland’s authorities go to the Environmental and Food Appeals Board (Miljø- og Fødevareklagenævnet).
