Abstract
The Order sets regulations on the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries functions and powers in Denmark with regard to policy on food, veterinary conditions, including animal welfare and feed. The Authority is headed by a Director, a number of deputy directors and a veterinary director. Among its responsibilities, the control and supervision for food, veterinary conditions, including animal welfare, feed and individual areas of fishing. The Authority shall conduct investigations and provide information and advice in the areas mentioned as well as to follow livestock and wildlife health in Denmark and as appropriate in other countries. The Authority shall hold the presidency and the secretariat of The Danish Codex Alimentarius Committee (1), the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Advisory Committee for Diseases in Aquaculture (2) and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Advisory Committee on Cost Control. The powers conferred on the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries under the Fisheries Act shall be exercised by the Director of Food & Drug Administration and shall implement measures of illegality in accordance to EU regulations.
