Abstract
This Order ensures guidelines of preservation, capture, trade and care of injured wildlife of animal species such as mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and plant species. The Order applies to species in the wild naturally living in the territory in which the Treaty on European Union applies; mammals, reptiles, fish, amphibians and invertebrates as listed in Appendix 1; plants listed in Appendix 2; and animals listed in Appendix 3. It also applies to mammals and birds are released or escaped human care and have reproduced in the wild, unless they are traditionally considered livestock. The Order does NOT apply to: animals agriculturally farmed pursuant Keeping of Animals Act No. 814; animals bred in captivity and offspring lawfully acquired; protection of wildlife not listed purusant Chapter 6.
The Order consists of 8 Chapters and 6 Appendices: Scope of application (1); Conservation of birds nesting trees pursuant the Birds Protection Directive (2); Conservation of fauna and flora pursuan Appendix IV of Habitat Directive (3); Conservation of animals and plants not covered by the Birds Directive and Appendix IV of Habitats Directive (4); Common provisions for protected animals and plants under Chapter 2-4 (5); Requirements for game not protected by Chapter 2-4 (6); Caring for injured wildlife or distressed youngs (7); Appeals, penalties, entry into force (8).

Appendix 2 - Protected plants (art. 10, 14).
Appendix 3 - Leeches and snails (art. 14, section 3).
Appendix 4 - Bird species covered by the Birds Directive, Annex III, A and B, which can be traded respectively outside and within Denmark.
Appendix 5 - Mammals and birds which may not be preserved if originating Danish landscape.
Appendix 6 - Species which may only be cared for by authorized person/company pursuant to art. 30, sect. 1. If injured or distressed youngs, see see art. 30, sect. 3.
