Abstract
This Act regulates the directing of forestry, forest survey and management and compensating the damage caused to the environment within the meaning of this Act, and provides for liability for violation of this Act. The purpose of this Act is to ensure the protection and sustainable management of the forest as an ecosystem. Forest management is sustainable if it ensures biological diversity, the productivity, regeneration capacity and vitality of forests, and the possibility of multiple uses of forest in a way that satisfies ecological, economic, social, and cultural needs. This Act applies to forest land and the flora and fauna thereof. The Act further provides for directing of forestry; forest survey; forest management; and state supervision.
