Abstract
This Directive lays down animal health requirements governing intra-Community trade in and imports from third countries of fresh poultrymeat. In order to be traded within the Community fresh meat must have been obtained from poultry which has been held in Community territory since hatching or has been imported from third countries in accordance with the requirements of Chapter III of Directive 90/539/EC. Commission veterinary experts may, ensure uniform application of this Directive, and in conjunction with the competent national authorities, carry out on-the spot inspections. The Commission shall inform the Member States of the outcome of such inspections.
