Abstract
The Decree consists of 15 sections divided into 5 Chapters: Scope, application sphere and definitions (I); Importation and exportation in the EEA (II); Marking, certification and control (III); Final provisions (IV).
The scope of this Decree is to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases and to establish sanitary requirements in relation with the importation and exportation of fresh meat of poultry, farmed and wild birds in the EEA. It applies to trade with countries of the European Economic Area. Conditions are specified for meat of poultry and farmed birds and for meat of wild birds. Reference is made to various Council Directives. Article 8 provides for health certification before dispatch of meat. Article 9 concerns transportation and packing.
