Abstract
This Regulation lays down the rules under which a traditional speciality guaranteed may be recognized for the following foodstuffs and agricultural products for human consumption: beer; chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa; bread; pasta; prepared condiment sauces; beverages made from plant extracts. In accordance with article 3, the European Community Commission shall keep a register of the traditional specialities guaranteed recognized throughout the Community under this Regulation. The name of a plant variety or breed of animal may form part of the name of a traditional speciality guaranteed, provided that it is not misleading as regards the nature of the product. The provisions of this Regulation apply without any prejudice to Community rules or those of the Member States governing intellectual property, particularly those concerning geographical indications and trademarks.
