Abstract
These Regulations carry into effect for England Council Directive 2003/85/EC on Community measures for the control of foot-and-mouth disease insofar as it deals with vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease. They make provision for a programme of vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease and require vaccination, other than for research purposes, to be carried out under licence. The Regulations further provide, among other things, for: the declaration of a vaccination zone and a vaccination surveillance zone, measures applying in such zones, the identification of vaccinated animals, treatment of carcases which come from a vaccinated animal and survey, cleansing and disinfection and restocking of reactor premises.
