Abstract
These Regulations make amendments to the Meat Products (Hygiene) Regulations 1994, the Fresh Meat (Hygiene) and Inspection Regulations 1995 and the Minced Meat and Meat Preparations (Hygiene) Regulations 1995 consequential on Commission Decision 2001/356/EC of 4 May 2001 concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom and repealing Decision 2001/172/EC. The prohibition on export of minced meat and meat preparations formerly contained in regulations 7(1A) and 8(4A) of the Minced Meat and Meat Preparations (Hygiene) Regulations 1995 is now contained in the legislation implementing Decision 2001/356/EC (The Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 7) Regulations 2001.
